Grammar A2 - Present Simple and Adverbs of Frequency

The Present Simple tense is used to talk about:

Habits and routines: actions that are done regularly.

Example:wake up at 7 am every day.

General facts: things that are always true or generally true.

Example: The sun rises in the east.

Scheduled events: sometimes used for future events in timetables or schedules.

Example: The train leaves at 5 o'clock.

Adverbs of Frequency are used to show how often something happens. They are typically placed before the main verb, but after the verb "to be" (am/are/is).

100% (Always): always

90% (Usually): usually

50% (Sometimes): sometimes

10% (Rarely): rarely

0% (Never): never

Examples:

always drink coffee in the morning. (100% of the time)

She sometimes goes to the gym. (50% of the time)

They never eat fast food. (0% of the time)
