Grammar A2 - Will vs going to

"Will" is used when we:

Make predictions about the future (based on opinions, beliefs, or guesses).

Decide to do something at the moment of speaking.

Promise to do something.

Examples:

I think it will rain tomorrow. (prediction)

will call you later. (decision made at the moment)

will help you with your homework. (promise)

"Going to" is used when we:

Have a plan or intention that was made before speaking.

Predict something based on evidence or something we can see or hear now.

Examples:

We are going to visit our grandparents next weekend. (plan)

Look at the sky! It is going to rain soon. (prediction based on evidence)

1. I think she like this movie.
2. They travel to Paris next summer.
3. I study for my test later this evening.
4. It looks like they win the match.
5. We meet our friends for lunch tomorrow.
6. I think it be sunny this afternoon.
7. She go to the cinema later.
8. We probably buy a new car next year.
9. He not be at the meeting because he’s sick.
10. Look at that dark cloud! It rain soon.
11. I’ve decided. I go to the gym tomorrow.
12. I think they like the new restaurant.
13. We visit our cousins next weekend.
14. I watch that movie tonight.
15. The teacher explain the lesson again tomorrow.
16. We go to the beach this weekend.

18. The weather looks bad. I think it snow tomorrow.
