The Present Perfect tense is formed using the verb have (or has for third-person singular) + the past participle of the main verb.
1. Form of Present Perfect:
I have + past participle
I have + past participle
They have + past participle
2. Uses of Present Perfect:
Experiences: To talk about experiences or actions that happened at an unspecified time.
Example: I have seen that movie.
Actions that started in the past and continue to the present: Often used with for (for a period of time) and since(since a specific point in time).
Example: She has lived in Paris for five years.
Example: We have worked here since 2010.
Recent actions with present results: To show that an action has just happened.
Example: They have just finished their homework.
Key Words often used with Present Perfect:
for (a period of time): I have lived here for two years.
since (a point in time): I have known him since 2010.
just: She has just arrived.
ever: Have you ever been to New York?
never: I have never seen that movie.
yet: I haven’t finished my homework yet.
