Modal verbs such as should and ought to are often used for giving advice, making recommendations, or persuading someone to take a certain action. Both of these modals are used to express obligation, duty, or strong suggestions, and can be used to persuade someone to do something.
Both of these modals imply that there is a good reason to follow the suggestion, and they are often used in a persuasive way.
Should
Explanation: This is used to suggest something that is a good idea or the right thing to do.
Example: You should study for the exam if you want to pass.
Ought to
Explanation: This is very similar to should and is often used in formal situations or to express moral obligations.
Example: You ought to apologize for what you said.
