![]()
Both "Shall we...?" and "Let's..." are commonly used in English to make suggestions or proposals. They are used when we want to invite someone to do something or suggest an activity.
1. "Shall we...?"
"Shall we...?" is a polite and somewhat formal way to ask if someone wants to do something with you.
It is typically used with the subject "we," and the verb that follows is in its base form.
Examples:
Shall we go to the cinema?
Shall we have dinner together?
2. "Let's..."
"Let's..." is a more informal way to suggest doing something. It's short for "Let us...", and it is often used when the speaker wants to suggest an activity that includes themselves and others.
"Let's" is followed by a verb in the base form.
Examples:
Let's go for a walk.
Let's watch a movie.
Key Difference:
"Shall we?" is usually more polite and formal.
"Let's" is informal and used to include oneself in the suggestion.
