Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison was an American inventor who is famous for inventing the electric light bulb. He was born on February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio. Edison loved to learn about science from a very young age. He was curious about how things worked and often conducted experiments. When he was a child, his teachers thought he was slow to learn, but he proved them wrong by becoming one of the most famous inventors in history.

In his early life, Edison worked as a newspaper boy and a telegraph operator. He was always thinking of new ideas, and in 1869, he invented his first successful invention: an automatic vote recorder. However, his first big success came in 1877 when he invented the phonograph, a machine that could record and play sound. This invention made Edison very famous and helped him build his reputation as a great inventor.

Edison is best known for developing the electric light bulb. Before his invention, people used candles or gas lamps to light their homes. Edison worked hard to create a light bulb that would last a long time and be safe for people to use. After many experiments, he finally succeeded in 1879. This invention changed the world and allowed people to live and work at night. Edison also created the first power station, which helped bring electricity to cities.
